Okay, I think we have enough people to at least get ideas flowing for the league. I need the following things from the following people already signed up:
vanram
kevinramsfan
faketeams
sc rams fan
option 27
636thestruggle
gostlouis
Big Red

  1. an email address
  2. a good mid to late august draft time (day and time)
League Options:
  1. Head to Head or Points only
  2. Playoff times and how many teams
  3. trade and waiver turn around times
  4. positions (how many of each)
  5. and if we wanted to totally customate it: what stats, and how many points for them
  6. fractional and/or negative points
               OR
totally default head-to-head league

Most importantly, WE ARE STILL TAKING PEOPLE!!!! YOU CAN STILL SIGN UP IN THE COMMENT SECTION OF THIS DIARY!!! max 20 teams, so we don't have to worry about going over.

Frankly, I'm not too picky but I'll at least tell you what I'm familiar with.
  1. Head 2 Head
  2. Playoffs that don't include week 17 (although I have been in one's that do...just kinda guards against games where teams have nothing to play for and are protecting their starters)
  3. Trades and waivers 2 day turnaround
  4. 1 QB, 2 RB, 3 WR, 1 TE, 1 K, 1 S/DF (I don't understand leagues that start 2 quarterbacks, seems dumb)
  5. whatever
  6. I kinda like fractional points.  eliminates (for the most part) ties.
Also.  Are you sure about 20 teams?  The biggest I ever played in was 16 and it was almost too big to be fun (strike that, it was too big to be fun).  Believe me how much it sucks to have to depend on a teams 3rd running back or 5th reciever.

Also, best draft times for me are on the weekend.  I do have a draft already set up for Aug. 26th.

my 2 cents
1) head to head
2)agree with red. i would say 6 teams. weeks 14, 15, 16. Top 2 get a bye the first week.
3) the rest i agree with, am not too picky. I would say a 12 team max would be best.

As for the draft I have one August 19th and a live draft which I don't know when yet. And as for the predraft rankings, anyone who will draft Larry Johnson before SJack (at least in this league) can meet me in a dark parking lot to talk it out. Sorry, I REALLY hate the Chiefs. I'll still give LT his due though.

league
  1. head to head for sure
  2. same as the others
  3. same
  4. same
5-6. usually when i do yahoo, its 6 pts. for a touchdown, 1 for 10 recieving yards and so fourth. i guess thats the default settings?

my e-mail is kevinramsfan@bellsouth.net

good draft time in august would be anytime after 5 or so, as thats the latest i have class

My experience.
  1.  Head to head.
  2.  I'd prefer no playoffs during week 17 and having 12 teams.
  3.  Whatever.
  4.  How I've usually played:
1QB, 2RB, 2WR, 1TE, 1K, 1D
or
1QB, 2RB, 2WR, 1TE, 1K, 1D and 2 defensive players.

5.  I've played lots of different ways.  I've played the default on NFL.com before.

On Yahoo I played in a league that had 1 point per reception added on to total yards the player had.  Also that league had 1 point per completed pass by the QB but -1 per incomplete pass.  For defensive players it was 1 point per tackle and .5 per assist tackle and 2 points per interception and 1 point per batted ball.  If your defensive player got a defensive TD then you got 6 points.

6.  Doesn't matter, I can do either.

I look forward to this!

Friday, Sat and Sun nights work best for me.  I already have a draft on Aug 26th in another league.

my two bits
or two cents Sorry for not responding sooner, was out of town for the last two days.

head to head's the way to go. adding competition and lots o room for smack talk.

week 16 championship

trades and waivers, don't know exactly how they're set up, but i do like the ones where after 30 mins before the first game of the week (stupid Thursday night games) you can't pick anyone up until Tuesday.

I like starting just 2 WR, but 3 could be interesting.

the default stats are fine with me

fractional points are good to have

i thought the profiles showed email addresses for all users, but i guess not. i'll try and see if i can change that setting at all. Anyway, here's mine: rv_vanbib AT yahoo DOT com

anytime in August should work well for me. nothing during the day during the week, but after 5 is cool.

League Options
  1. cshelton82@msn.com
  2. Not Thursdays during the week, after 7 p.m. other days of the week. Anytime on weekends.
League Options:
  1. Head to Head
  2. I agree with the championship by week 16
  3. No opinion one way or another
  4. I like the 1 QB, 2RB, 2WR, 1TE and 1DST; but will work with whatever is decided
  5. I don't have an opinion as for stats and points, the only thing I don't like is the defense/special teams getting docked points for the offense giving up a TD
  6. Never really played with the fractional points, am okay with the negative points
