Ricky Don't Lose That Number

Hey man, is Linehan interested in...[big inhale]...Ricky Williams?

Totally, man, I saw it in the paper, and, well, like, [Fritos crunch] Linehan loves those former Dolphins. Besides, he might...[exhale]...be a nice backup to the great Steven Jackson.

He's 29, so he's not too far over the hill to be a backup. I will say this, Linehan seems to endorse the guy's character. And why not, in the Pacman Jones era of the NFL, Ricky's problems seems sorta minor.

Good to hear that Pace and Tino are recovering well from surgery. They'll be needed.

Good call on Donnie Jones. The Rams, for a lesser price than Turk probably would have cost, get a younger leg with the same skill level. Say what we will about the lack of defensive tackle signings this offseason, but the Rams have made serious improvement on their special teams. I guess with predictions of 9-7 every little bit can mean the difference for that 10th win.

I think it's a good fit
The Rams are in a position to not have to rely on Ricky. They have Stephen Jackson, if Ricky doesn't work out it won't matter. If he does, they could have the best RB tandem in football.

It would cost them virtually no money and they'd likely be able to put whatever protections they want in the contract. If he messes up or doesn't perform they could dump him with no penalty.

I agree . . . sort of
Plus with the national media not much of a focus in St. Louis this year -- only one nationally televised game, on a network not provided by all cable providers -- could help Ricky stay in his shell and find his collegiate form.

However, I do dislike the idea of taking touches from Jackson. And I believe Ricky would get more touches than a no-namer letting Jackson rest.

I like the idea
but wouldn't we have to trade Miami something?  They wouldn't just give the guy away.  If he's on the block, the Rams wouldn't be the only team interested.

I hear
that Miami needs a TE...

Maybe they'd end the nightmare for themselves and send Bob Marley along for Klop or even Byrd

of course
if Ronnie Brown's as injury prone as I wonder, they may want to keep RW after all.

The B.J. Sander(s) Era is offically over.
With the recent signing of Donnie Jones, the Rams have decided to cut B.J. Sander(s).  A sad day indeed.

Oh the memories.

Never forget.

Sander
and to think, we never even saw him punt as a Ram
