2012 NFL Mock Draft: The Rams Trade With the Redskins, Now What?

But first, there is the little matter of the sixth pick this year. Who should the Rams draft with the sixth pick acquired from Washington?
St. Louis Rams Trade Second Pick To Washington Redskins: Fan Approval Poll
The St. Louis Rams moved ever so closer to turning around their moribund franchise on Friday night. Roughly two months after hiring Jeff Fisher as their head coach and cleaning out the front office, the Rams swung a deal with the Washington Redskins. They traded their second overall pick in the 2012 NFL Draft in exchange for Washington's next three first-round picks, including their sixth this year, and their second-round pick this year.
Not a bad haul to move up just four spots in the draft.
So the turnaround begins. In the weeks ahead, fans can discuss and debate the best course of action for the sixth pick, and the Rams should have some interesting options at their disposal, possibly even moving down again in the first round.
For now, savor the moment. This has been a long time coming for the Rams. Hell, sometimes it seems like the Super Bowl win was just a fluke, coincidence more than design. This is not. This is very real, and it puts the team on the road to a dynasty.
There's my hyperbole. Now, let me hear yours. How do you feel about the trade? How do you feel about the direction the team is headed?

St. Louis received Washington's sixth pick this year and their first-round picks in 2013 and 2014 as well as Washington's second-round pick this year. All that for moving up four spots in the draft.
For the Rams, that's a prime ticket to a bright future. They have two first-round picks in the two drafts after this one. Two chances in 2013 and 2014 to added bona fide starters to their roster ... at cut rate rookie prices. The team was already in good shape with the cap in those year, projecting some $30 million in space.
Jeff Fisher chose the Rams because of their unique position to reshape the franchise, to finally change its direction after years in the wilderness. This is a giant leap forward in that process.

Peyton Manning Rumors: NFC West Bound?
The Peyton Manning rumors are out of control. The St. Louis Rams appear to be one of the few teams in the league NOT bidding on Manning's services. Of course, the Rams aren't really a suitable match given their track for the future rather than the now. The Manning sweepstakes does impact the Rams in at least a couple ways.
Let's review.

Leave it to friend of TST and traditional media superstar Bernie Miklasz to get Laurinaitis on the mic. Not long ago, the Rams' defensive centerpiece joined the Bernie Miklasz show on 101.1 ESPN Radio in St. Louis to discuss just about everything related to the Rams and the NFL.
