So I finally had my chance to pick. Surprisingly, the Eagles offered me a trade... They offered me pick #43 and pick #99 in exchange for pick #37. Considering there were still several players I really liked still on the board, I figured I could move back and still get at least 1 of them, and add another 3rd round pick in the process (just like I had hoped). So I pulled the trigger on the deal. The next 6 picks went like this:

37) Eagles - Sidney Jones
38) Chargers - Dion Dawkins
39) Jets - Quincy Wilson
40) Panthers - Budda Baker
41) Bengals - Tyus Bowser
42) Saints - Nathan Peterman

Finally my turn:

Pick #43 - Evan Engram, TE, Mississippi. I took a risk and got lucky that Engram was still here for me. I'll be shocked if he's makes it to the 2nd round in reality, but whatever, he was here in this mock. This guy is explosive and can be a real difference-maker in McVay's offense. He had Jordan Reed in Washington, and now he gets Engram to play the same role for the Rams. Engram is athletic, faster than most WRs, has good hands, is an excellent scheme fit, and will be a match-up nightmare for opposing defenses.

Pick #69 - Jordan Willis, Edge, Kansas State. High motor player with the necessary skills to be an excellent pass rusher in the NFL. Excellent hand usage, good power to speed ability, technically sound. Plus, Bill Polian loves this guy - that's good enough for me.

Pick #99 - Chad Hansen, WR, California. Good size and speed to challenge defenses vertically, good hands, and a capable blocker. Will provide the Rams with a legit deep threat on the outside.

Pick #112 - Chris Godwin, WR, PSU. Nice size and speed combined with a knack for producing in big games makes him my pick here. High character player that competes on every down. Goff needs weapons.

Pick #141 - Howard Wilson, CB, Houston. Smooth, fast, and lanky CB with terrific ball skills. He averaged an interception every 15 times he was targeted while at Houston! He's raw and needs to be coached up, but the Rams have the time to work in him slowly in 2017 and get him ready for a starting role in 2018.

Pick #149 - John Toth, C, Kentucky. Look, Toth isn't the greatest of athletes (how many Centers are?), but he's a tough, battle tested (4 year starter in the SEC) S.O.B. that has the size, arm length, strength and consistency to make a quality NFL Center. Sullivan is not even close to a long-term solution so the Rams need to find his replacement sooner rather than later.

Pick #189 - David Jones, S, Richmond. I know - Who? Jones has the range and skills to play single high Safety and at this point I really like his overall size, speed, and ball skills to bring him in and see if he can develop into a starting FS for the Rams.

Pick #206 - Jerry Ugokwe, OT, William & Mary. A raw prospect with excellent size, length, and hand size to go with solid lateral quickness and athleticism. Didn't play football until his junior year of high school, and has shown real growth and development as a player over his college career. Said to be a very intelligent and coachable player. It would be up to Aaron Kromer to refine Ugokwe's technique and maximize his excellent physical traits to turn all that potential into on-field production. He's a low-risk, high reward pick.

Pick #234 - D.J. Jones, NT, Mississippi. A stocky, powerful athlete with quick hands and excellent short area lateral quickness, Jones is a perfect fit as a NT that can provide 3-down ability in Wade Phillips' one-gap scheme.

Well, there it is. How would you feel if the Rams draft went like this?
