Interesting weaving to get to 14, but all familiar names at this point. So it has to be Paxton Lynch, right?
Nope.
Carson Wentz (QB, North Dakota St.)
The Rams must get a franchise quarterback to finally reach the postseason. Despite playing at a small school, Wentz has all of the tools to quickly develop into a high-level starter as a pro.
I haven't gotten a chance to look at his tape yet, so I'm gonna hold off any individual evaluation of Wentz as a prospect...but the idea of Jeff Fisher and a Jeff Fisher staff developing an FCS quarterback is frightening (spare me the Steve McNair habberjabber there, Trivia Timmy).
That doesn't mean it's outside the realm of possibility. It's just outside the realm of desire. Then again, if we're looking for a QB to save us from a repeat of the 2015 offensive Lovecraft novella...I guess there's an argument to swing for the fences.
