The title basically explains the post... Of the 11 players we picked and the 15 UDFAs we signed, which one are you looking forward to seeing on the field above the rest? Let's take a look at our options...
Greg Robinson, OL - Over the past two years, when we've won in the trenches, we've had success on offense. Greg Robinson is gonna be one of the few offensive linemen who could have his own highlight reel in a couple of years. He could absolutely maul people.
Aaron Donald, DT - Donald provides an interior pass rushing presence that we haven't really had. If his tape is anything like it was in college, he's gonna be a lot of fun to watch.
Lamarcus Joyner, DB - Speaking of tape, throw on a Joyner highlight reel and you'll get excited for this season. This guy being placed in a Gregg Williams system should be fun to watch.
Tre Mason, RB - While we likely won't get to see as much of this guy as we will the first three, Mason could have an impact similar to Daryl Richardson in his rookie year. He should feast against fatigued defenses when Stacy needs a breather.
Maurice Alexander, S - Probably the rawest of our draft prospects, Alexander looks like he's just scratching the surface of his athletic potential - and that potential is high. This guy is getting my vote, because he's the one I've probably seen the least out of (other than the 7th rounders).
E.J. Gaines, CB - I'm not sure how much he'll see the field early on, but hometown Rams fans have to be excited to see a kid from Mizzou on the field.
Garrett Gilbert, QB - I'm pretty sure we're all hoping that this guy doesn't see the field too much. However, it'll be nice to see what we have in some preseason action. After watching some tape on him, I think he was a perfect guy to try and develop.
Mitchell Van Dyk, OT - I'm gonna come right out and say that I know absolutely nothing about this guy. I always like it when we pick up fresh bodies on the OL, though.
Christian Bryant, FS - This guy was a team captain for Ohio State before going down with an injury. Everyone I've heard talk about him has spoken very highly of him. I look forward to watching him compete for a roster spot.
Michael Sam, DE - The draft card seen 'round the world. Sam is the most talked about athlete in pro sports this week, and it's easy to see why. He'll probably lead us in jersey sales, and I'm sure we'll hear plenty about him throughout camp and the preseason as he fights to carve out his niche in the NFL.
Demetrius Rhaney, C - I know nothing about this guy, but center is a spot that could be wide open this season. It's unlikely that he stands much of a chance to land the job, but time will tell.
So let's hear it!
