Hello RamsNation, just here to voice my opinion on hot topics related to our team this year. I'll love to hear comments, feedbacks, opinions and all that good stuff down below. Hope you enjoy!
First Off: I'm sorry, I know this will piss off many of you guys that may have a man crush on Sammy Watkins but I do believe that we still have lots of promise within our young receiving corps. Yes, I do agree that Sammy Watkins by far is the best WR in this draft. No Question. The real question is can our receiving corps as a whole get better by piling rookie on top of rookie? Besides, unless you are Alshon Jeffery it takes a while to get used to NFL play as a WR and the fanbase is hungry with a win now mindset. This is up for lots of Debate but Fisher himself said that he feels TA will be a huge threat in 2014 with experience under his belt. Also there's another guy named Stedman Bailey who began to put on a show as a RELIABLE receiver towards the latter end of the season. As for a #1 receiver I believe Kenny Britt can be our answer. Yes, his 2013 season was a pile of muck but under Fisher he went out there and drove the chains. Also, I believe that most of it was simply mental and confidence based. Sometimes guys just may need a change of scenery to give him that extra spark and he is a veteran with a few years of experience while being young and yet to hit peak years. Oh yeah, give Pettis the boot, the experiment kinda crashed and burned.
Secondly: Go defense first round. Yes, line is a huge need but assuming long is healthy we can solve it with getting a mauler like Gabe Jackson and another project for Paul Boudreau later on. Besides, I think a lot of guys forgot about Brandon Washington and Barrett Jones who, if they put on a show this offseason, is capable of earning some quality time. It's a proven argument; Defense does indeed win championships. In the event that Houston takes a QB we sprint to the podium and nab Jadeveon Clowney. In the event Clowney is taken first overall we do a modest trade back and nab Khalil Mack. With having a numerous amount of picks we have the privilege of being able to take the BPA. And wow, these two are arguably the top two players in this draft. The thought of adding one of them to our front seven will make Gdubbs salivate and the Kaepernicks, Palmers and Wilsons of the world cringe. Along with a centerfielding safety that can hold his own in the backfield, overnight this could make an already decent defense elite. Besides, look what the legion of doom did to Manning and all his targets, so what makes you think that they can't do this to Sammy Watkins. On the other end, look back at week 8 when the Rams D had a field day on the Seahawks and kept us toe for toe with the super bowl champions. Now imagine what could happen if you add Jadeveon Clowney or Khalil Mack to that mix. Pure Hell for QB's and Linemen alike. That is the power of Defense my friends.
Just my thoughts thanks guys and please leave your feedback and opinions.
