Mock Draft (April Edition) : What "Will", "Should", and "Hope" to Happen in May...Part 1 of 3

This should be one of my favorite post(s) thus far. I will put myself in my own shoes (that's easy enough...I think), in the shoes of the Rams faithful fan base, and in the shoes of Jeff Fisher/Les Snead (let me grab my mischievous mustache and blonde wavy wig).

Today, let's start off with What Will Happen (Jeff Fisher and Les Snead):

Round 1 Pick #2: TRADE! (Rams trade with Bills for #9 overall pick, #41 overall pick, #109 overall pick and 2015 1st Rounder)

Somehow, Snead pulls off a masterpiece of a trade. Victim: Buffalo Bills

Round 1 Pick #9: Jadeveon Clowney goes #1 to Texans, Khalil Mack goes #2 to Bills, Blake Bortles goes #3 to Jaguars , Derek Carr goes #4 to Browns, Johnny Manziel goes #5 to Raiders, Greg Robinson goes #6 to Falcons, and Sammy Watkins goes #7 to Buccaneers, and Anthony Barr goes #8 to Vikings...

With the 9th Pick in the 2014 NFL Draft the St. Louis Rams Select: OT, Jake Matthews, Texas A&M

Fisher can't resist the bloodlines and a blue-chip player like Jake Matthews that could protect Sam Bradford. It's not a flashy pick, but when has Fisher, Snead, and Co. ever been that f flashy? Their plan is to be methodical and ensuring the Rams have talent and depth to take over Seattle, San Fran, and Arizona.

Round 1 Pick #13: HaHa Clinton-Dix goes #10 to Lions, CJ Mosely goes #11 to Titans, and Taylor Lewan goes #12 to Dolphins (trade with Giants).

With the 13th Pick in the 2014 NFL Draft the St. Louis Rams Select: CB, Justin Gilbert, Oklahoma St.

Fisher adds a cornerback to team up with Janoris Jenkins and Trumaine Johnson forming a solid group of 3 corners with Brandon McGee and Greg Reid filling the #4 and #5 spots. The only reason this might not be the pick is because the 49ers and Seahawks don't pass a lot, so cornerback isn't necessarily a NFC West ideal pick, but the Rams must fix the secondary regardless.

Round 2 Pick #41:

With the 41st Pick in the 2014 NFL Draft the St. Louis Rams Select: DE, Kony Ealy, Missouri

The Rams land a steal with Kony Ealy who falls in the draft due to "speed concerns". The Missouri product ends up staying in his home state playing for the Rams.

Round 2 Pick #44:

With the 44th Pick in the 2014 NFL Draft the St. Louis Rams Select: S, Dion Bailey, USC

The Rams add former teammate Dion Bailey from USC to couple him with TJ McDonald. While this isn't flashy either, but the Rams add a key piece to their defense with a guy that can pick off some passes from opposing quarterbacks.

Round 3 Pick #75:

With the 75th Pick in the 2014 NFL Draft the St. Louis Rams Select: OG, Gabe Jackson, Miss. St.

Gabe Jackson has the potential to be the starting LG for the Rams. He could be a heavy run- mauler for Zac Stacy.

Round 3 Pick #82: TRADE!

The Rams trade with their 109th pick (4th Round) and their 6th Rounder to grab a 3rd Round prospect still on the board.

With the 82nd Pick in the 2014 NFL Draft the St. Louis Rams Select: DT, Anthony Johnson, LSU

Another teammate reunion. Anthony Johnson is the last addition to the Rams defensive line for the spring/summer.

Round 4 Pick #110

With the 110th Pick in the 2014 NFL Draft the St. Louis Rams Select: QB, Aaron Murray, Georgia

Even after an injury ended his college career, the Rams interest themselves in case Sam Bradford doesn't pan out or gets hurt this year.

The remaining rounds are hard to predict, but here's the recap in the first 4 rounds:

OT, Jake Matthews

CB, Justin Gilbert

DE, Kony Ealy

FS, Dion Bailey

OG, Gabe Jackson

DT, Anthony Johnson

QB, Aaron Murray

Thoughts on the Fisher's plan (What Will Happen)?
