After much thought, it has occurred to me that this draft greatly parallels that of 2010. Then, as now, we have a top QB and defensive lineman vying for the top pick.
Further comparisons can also be made. The team with the first pick is coming off a terrible season, with last year's disgraced season-opening starting QB (Bulger = Schaub) having left in FA, and a handful of backups currently penciled in to start. They have a choice - take the top defensive lineman (Suh = Clowney), with questions about his performance on the field, or take the top QB (Bridgewater = Bradford), who's faced down multiple challengers in the mock draft and hype rags throughout the offseason. There's even a rival media darling college QB who's more flash than actual talent (Tebow = Manziel) making his own case to be the 2nd QB picked.
It took me a while to realize this, but I think we're basically re-living the 2010 draft season. And as such, I feel confident enough to openly predict that Houston will ultimately go with Bridgewater. You're welcome for me making your mock drafts that much easier!
