**This is before free agency, and assuming that we do not sign Jairus Byrd or Alterraun Verner (or any corner or safety)
The NFL is obviously turning into a passing league. While the run game will never go away (hell it's the emphasis of our offense and those in the NFC West) offenses that excel passing on third down have the best success. Looking at our defense the biggest hole is safety, but unless Brandon McGee or Rodney McLeod is going to develop into a stellar slot corner that will be the target of teams converting third downs and I see it as just as big of a hole. Defensive Tackle is another need where I'm very tempted to try and grab Donald or Hageman, but it's not as big of a need as the secondary is...Langford wasn't as bad as McCleod. I believe Ray Ray is going to get a shot at OLB -- he is an athletic freak and our D will be scary with him and Tree flying all over the place so OLB is not a first round need.
If there were a safety top-10 worthy, I'd consider taking him but I think Dix and Pryor are players drafted in the 20-25 range and corners like Gilbert and Dennard are 8-15 worthy based on skill, athleticism, and upside, so they get the notch for being best player available to me. This draft is deep at safety so we can get one in round 2. I'd select Justin Gilbert at #13, and a safety in Rd. 2, although DT or S are both tempting picks.
