Like many of you, I have been semi-addicted to the draft game on first-pick.com. Anyone who has played it, would probably agree that many of the trade scenarios are a stretch, to say the least. However, playing as the Rams, what seems to continuously occur is a rash of trade offers that do seem reasonable. For instance, say I am set to go on the 13th pick-Dallas offers me their 16th pick, plus a second rounder. I take a look at who is available and depending on that, usually take such a trade. Here is my last game.......

Notice that I traded back multiple times to acquire a future 1st round pick from Buffalo, but a wealth of second round choices. Six of them! I still picked twice in the mid first round and got two players that I really wanted.
But how does this translate to the real world?
Would teams keep offering trades to move up a few spots? It happens, yes, of course, but is it possible to amass five extra picks in the second round?
This draft is famously deep and as Rams fans, we are children waiting for Christmas morning. As always in the draft, all the attention is focused on a handful of top players. However, let's take Darqueze Dennard as our example. He is not talked about near as much as Jadevon Clowney, Sammy Watkins or Johnny Football, but he is the top rated Cornerback and is plotted out as the 11th overall on CBS Sports Big Board. Would a team picking in the mid teens offer their spot plus a second round pick to jump ahead of some others and nab him? I submit that this is possible, for after you get by the truly famous names, there is still a welth of talent to be had in some very desirous positions. Guys like Odell Beckham, Aaron Donald, Xavier Su'a-Filo and more. If a team is in serious need of one of these positions, is in love with the player (or maybe just lust) and has possibly missed out on one of the top players, it seems reasonable.
Each time picking up a second rounder as inducement.
Or just wishful thinking?
P.S. 'hacksaw' if you are reading this.......how the hell did you score 7317 on that game?
