As each day passes I convince myself a little more the Rams will not be trading their #2 pick in this years draft. There will be a few suitors(not many) but those teams will be selecting later than the Rams want to trade back. Jacksonville could be the exception, blocking a move by other teams. This, I would love. If I'm Cleveland, I'm sticking at #4, I'll explain why in a minute. Oakland may want our player, so I don't want to trade with the Raiders or pick behind them.
Move ahead to Rams pick #13. Cleveland calls(or more likely, Snead calls Cleveland before the draft). This works well for Rams. Select elite player at #2 and get extra pick(s). I'm happy with any of the following. Watkins, Robinson, Mathews or Mack. Expect the unexpected with Fish and Snead, especially with Gregg Williams in their ear.
#2OLB Khalil Mack
#26(trade) OG Zack Martin
#36(trade) WR Kelvin Benjamin
44 SS Deone Buchannon.
Like the trade? Don't like the picks? Insert Watkins or Robinson at #2 and proceed. I like this scenario. What do you think?
