I've noticed the personnel on the bandwagon has changed over the first couple months of the year, and the bandwagon itself too, has changed. I just think it's funny; all the fans on here with their die-hard positions concerning topics such as Roger Saffold or Clowney or Free Agency or whatever. It's quite comical.
First people are like: "Saffold is a must re-sign. If we lose him we're going to be totally fucked! There's no way the Rams let him walk". Now after learning that Saffold has signed to the Raiders (for a ridiculous amount of money I might add) everyone seems to be on the "Thank god they let him go! He was way to much money and not even that good. He was also injury prone!" bandwagon. I mean I know for a fact that I read many posts about Saffold being a crucial cog in our Oline next year, however where are they all now, screaming for the heads of Snead and Fisher? My guess is on the new bandwagon.
Next we had a lot of talk about Clowney. "The Rams cannot let Clowney pass them by! If we draft Clowney we'll go to the Superbowl!" Suddenly a certain stud named Watkins was mentioned and suddenly Clowney's name hasn't been mentioned. Is it because people realized maybe he isn't the savior the Rams are looking for? Maybe. But it's more than likely they switched their opinions based on the opinions of others.
"Okay, Okay. But what we can all agree on is that we need an elite veteran somewhere on the field. Byrd would be fantastic but if not TJ Ward would be a great plan B. What about a FA WR? Maybe an OG or OT? We need to spend big bucks on Free Agents this year!" However when the news struck that the Rams were quiet, and didn't sign a single free agent that they were looking at (or at least told us they were looking at) suddenly everyones opinion changed again, as if it had been that way the whole time. "The rams are so smart! Jeez how could anyone (besides myself of course because I am an NFL guru) know that these players were going to be overpaid?! They are fucking genus'.
What's my point? The point is it's okay to disagree with people, or with the head coach or general manager of your favorite team. Don't agree with something just because thats what most people agree with. This is a life lesson here people. Stand by your opinions. If you jump on a bandwagon, go for the ride. Isn't that why most of us are all still Rams fans? I am personally dissapointed the Rams didn't sign a free agent. I would have loved to have TJ Ward in horns. Alas, it won't happen, but it doesn't change my opinion that it probably should have. Believe what you believe, not what others tell you to believe.
There's really no other point to this post. I had 15 minutes of work left and decided to try and take as much of it up as I could. It is now 5:30 (ET). Time for me to go home.
Much love TST. Be your own people
