Free Agency- Rodger Safold is rumored to be leaving via Free Agency and it is likely another team give him a nice payday. In that scenario the Rams can spend their limited free agent dollars looking to boost the O-Line by singing a Guard such as Jon Asamoah or Willie Colon and look to sign bargain FA's for depth at other positions.
Keep in mind if the Rams trade down to collect more draft picks they have to make room under the Salary Cap to sign those players. However, building though the draft will allow the team to stockpile cheaper talent while the Niners and Seahawks begin to use a high percentage of salary cap space to pay the rising salaries of their young QB's
Draft Trades- Rams trade #2 pick to CLE for #4 and #26 then flip the #4 pick to ATL for #6 and #68
The Draft - There are 3 top QB's in this class and all 3 are rising to the top.
#1 HOU - Teddy Bridgewater - Signs point to Houston keeping the pick and selecting a QB.
#3 - JAC - Blake Bortles - Ownership has already stated that the team needs to draft a QB (or two) and JAC will be willing to reach for one here with OAK and MIN also on the prowl for a signal caller.
#5 OAK selects Sammy Watkins
#6 - Rams select OT Greg Robinson - At some point Fisher will break the trend and find an OT that he would like to pick in the first round.
Alternate Pick #1 (if available) Sammy Watkins Alternate Pick #2- Khalil Mack
#13 Rams select WR Mike Evans -Evans has the size and upside to make the plays that Brian Quick can't
Alternate Pick #1 OLB CJ Mosley -- Alternate Pick #2 OT Taylor Lewan
#26 Rams select S Calvin Prior -Perfect mix of talent and team need
Alternate Pick #1 CB Darqueze Dennard -- Alternate Pick #2 - OT Zack Martin
#44 Rams select G Xavier Su'a-Filo - If there is a value to be had here the Rams can finish rebuilding their OL with this pick
#68- Rams select DT - Ego Ferguson- OLB is also a need here but if a top DT falls then draft him and plug him into the rotation with Brokers and Langford.
#75 -Rams select QB Tajh Boyd - Hopefully the Rams use one of their mid-round picks to groom a future QB
Alternate Pick #1 - QB Zach Mettenberger -- Alternate Pick #2 -QB Jimmy Garoppolo
This is a deep class so there should be lots of value in rounds 4-7 to fill other needs. What combo of these picks would you like to see? Let me know in the comments!
