Who is that guy wearing the Rams shirt at the bench press? He's the older man who counts the reps.
I've been watching him very closely. I'm dead serious. I've been literally analyzing his every move on all the bench press videos I've seen. I've been watching his eyes especially, and how interested/paying attention he looks.
I'm wondering if this guy is a Rams' scout.
If he is, I can tell you that based on the way he was watching Robinson, Matthews, Lewan, and Watkins bench press that he is interested in them.
But perhaps the biggest giveaway was when Jordan Matthews, the WR from Vandy, was bench pressing. I was watching the scouts face and he was intently watching. Even closer than the other guys.
Then when Matthews got up, the Rams scout looked up, announced the number differently than he normally does, and Matthews instantly JUMPED up, and gave the Rams scout a HIGH FIVE, almost like he knew the Rams guy.
Oh, and don't forget the Rams have connections with Vanderbilt. Fisher watches Vanderbilt closely and has a good relationship with them. Remember where Stacy came from? Vanderbilt.
I have a feeling the Rams plan on drafting Jordan Matthews, which I would have NO PROBLEM at all with how he has performed today. He was OUTSTANDING in the positional drills... He dropped ZERO passes the entire day and made some really athletic grabs. He also had the most bench presses @ 21 of all the 1st-5th RD WR's (only 1 random WR had more), and Matthews even ran a 4.46 40. Oh, and what else was interesting about Matthews?
Matthews is 6"3, 215lbs, and he measured in with the BIGGEST hands of all WR's at 10 3'8". Damn those are some big muffs.
Matthews is also the all time leading receiver in SEC history. This guy's only question mark that was keeping him out of the 1st rd in mock drafts was people thought he was a 4.6-4.7 slower guy. Well, he just ran an official 4.46. Matthews is going to go in the first.
