Let me begin with saying that the Rams hiring Gregg Williams was a fantastic hire! Our defense would not be able to be a championship defense with Tim Walton, so thank you Jeff Fisher for doing the right thing and bringing in a guy that can improve the secondary coverage; making Janoris Jenkins, Trumaine Johnson, Brandon McGee, and Cortland Finnegan a Top 10 Secondary (including TJ McDonald and hopefully an added Safety via Draft or FA)
- Rams cut Austin Pettis
- Rams cut Scott Wells
- Rams cut Harvey Dahl
- Rams resign Rodger Saffold (OG)
Round 1 Pick 4 (Rams trade Pick #2 to Cleveland) : Sammy Watkins, WR, Clemson
Even though the Rams receivers are young, Sammy Watkins is an excellent addition to the offense and Sam Bradford. The Rams land big with this guy.
Round 1 Pick 13: Jake Matthews, OT, Texas A&M
I think Jake Matthews falls in the draft. Greg Robinson will be the first tackle taken and I think he will go to Atlanta; leaving Jake Matthews on the board and Fisher won't pass on Jake Matthews this time; breaking his trend.
Round 1 Pick 26 (Rams receive #26 selection in trade with Cleveland) : CJ Mosely, OLB, Alabama
This pick could go a lot of different options...
Round 2 Pick 35 (Rams receive #35 selection in trade with Cleveland) : Calvin Pryor, S, Louisville
I was one of the first people to mock Pryor to the Rams 4 months ago. Now he is flying up on draft boards from the 3rd Round to the end of Round 1 / early Round 2. He will join TJ McDonald in the back end.
Round 2 Pick 44 : Gabe Jackson, G, Mississippi State
Round 3 Pick 76 : EJ Gaines, CB, Missouri
A corner to take over for Finnegan in the 2015 season.
Round 4 Pick 108 : AJ McCarron, QB, Alabama
Its already been rumored that we were looking at McCarron or Murray. It may require selecting him in the 3rd Round though.
