The way I see it, we have two picks within the first fifteen picks in the first round. We have needs on both sides of the ball, so lets evaluate them both. As much depth as the Rams have at DE, I dont believe you can pass up on a special talent like Clowney if he falls into our hands. If this were to happen, Id like to see Fisher pick Big Bad Clowney at #2 and Mike Evans at #13. I dont want Marqise Lee because hes not tall enough and we already have speedsters in Tavon, Givens, and Bailey. We need somebody who we can rely on at WR to win a large percentage of one on one coverage. I've given up on the Brian Quick project and think its time for us to move on. Evans is the man for that.
Another option would be to take Watkins at #2 and Ha Ha (lol) Clinton Dix at #13. Watkins in comparison to Desean Jackson is faster and taller and is always pushing himself to be better. For this reason, I think he could turn out to be an elite WR in the game. Regardless of whether or not you agree with these choices in particular I want the Rams to get an offensive player to help out Sam as well as a defensive prospect/offensive lineman who can add protection. If we can get that, we might just be looking at a playoff birth and a to keep our rams in the STL.
Id like to see us take a late round QB preferably in round 4 or 5 and there is one QB I have my sights set on. Tajh Boyd.
Think about it. The two teams from the good old NFC West that made the playoffs had what? A solid defense, and a QB with quick feet at the helm. Though Boyd has been trying to focus more on passing rather than his speed, his feet could just add another weapon to our disposal. His arm is alright, but his accuracy is NFL material, though he struggles at times. I think this kid would be a steal in the draft and a solid backup for Bradford's final chance at the sweet taste of victory.
Thanks for listening to my two cents and I hope you guys enjoyed my ideas. Let me know your thoughts on my analysis and I will continue to post my thoughts on draft prospects and such
