I’ve read some posts in here critizing him and I don't understand why?
Critics: "The Rams don’t throw long enough / Why don’t the Rams score more?" My answer: Maybe that’s impossible to do (or stupid to try) with mostly rookies and first year players in an offense which is what the Rams and Sam Bradford have had to deal with every stinkin year for the last 4 years.
Every year Sam’s been here – except one – there’s been a new offence to learn. The only year Sam didn’t have to learn a new offense was last year however most of the players around him did e.g.: Tavon Austin, Jake Long, Jared Cook, Stedman Bailey, Zac Stacy etc. I believe those were the main skill players and the most important blocker, weren’t they? They were all new in the offense, weren’t they? So did anyone really, HONESTLY, expect a bunch of first-year players to ‘break out’? To 'dominate' in the hardest division in football? If you did or are still confused by why it didn't happen I’m sorry but you’re either a jackass or a troll. There’s no other way to describe it.
As far as I can tell Brian Shottenheimer has one of the best resumes and history of success of any offensive coordinator in the NFL. Forgetting just for a moment that he learned starting at birth from arguably one of the best coaches ever in the NFL, he took one of the worst quarterbacks in the NFL, a raw weak-armed slow witted slow footed gun-shy lazy party loving happy footed belongs behind the counter in a fast-food chain QB’s to the brink of the Super Bowl, TWICE. And then they fired him. Some jackmo who probably never played football thought that would be a good idea. Sound familiar? And guess what? The team went into to the toilet without him. Wasn’t it pretty obvious why it happened? Fools can pretend to be blind but even Helen Keller can see.
And now how's he performing? He’s taken a gutted roster full of no-name kids who eat Cheerios to a winning record in the toughest division in football. He’s taken fresh from the placenta cubs and got them to beat lions. He’s working with the worst team in football, with the least talent, and the least experience, yet he's beating playoff teams. He’s gotten a team with absolutely nothing to climb from the deepest pit ever against the largest odds with the least experienced group possible to the edge of the playoffs – which is something no other Rams coach has been able to do in over a decade - TWICE - in his first two years - and someone is complaining about that? Are you for real? Seriously??
The biggest offensive ‘genius’ in the NFL, Josh McDaniel, couldn’t do anything with the Rams. And you want to dump the first glimmer of light the Rams have had? In over ten years? Ten Y-E-A-R-S?? A freaking DECADE???
Please. I and many others cannot handle this level of lunacy..........
