Last week, Austin Davis was not the worst quarterback in the league -Football Outsiders
Oh, it was ugly alright, but despite that, several other QBs, including Cam Newton, Tony Romo and Joe Flacco were even worse, based on their total Defense-adjusted Yards Above Replacement(DYAR). At the bottom of the pile? Geno Smith and Michael Vick...yes, BOTH Jets quarterbacks. Vick fumbled three times, it doesn't say if any of them were of the 'butt' variety. Chin up Rams fans...it could be a LOT worse.
Speaking of the Jets, apparently John Idzik knows what it is like to get punched in the face -Sports Illustrated
"It's gut-wrenching," Idzik said of the team's season thus far, according to the New York Daily News. "It's brutal. You feel like you've been punched in the face. It's painful."
New York Jets general manager John Idzik is just being honest. I for one very much appreciate that. No stale blurbs. No rehearsed cliches. No excuses.
"My performance to date is unsatisfactory," Idzik said, according to the New York Post.
And no stay-the-course-everything-is-just-fine, while the world burns. Now that article does go on to say that the interview got "bizarre and uncomfortable" but at least he acknowledged that things were way wrong in the NY.
Something you may want to keep an eye on... -Danger and Play
Remember Chris Kluwe? The Vikings punter who wrote this rather famous post on DeadSpin? Well, it seems that Chris is suing a California attorney. For exactly what, he doesn't say, but Mike Cernovitch, the attorney in question, believes this is a tactic that will allow Kluwe to get around the gag order, put in place by his settlement with the Vikings. Depending on how this plays out, it just might have repercussions for the entire NFL.
At the halfway point, some projections for major awards -NFL
I know this is a shocker, but Peyton Manning is mentioned once or twice.

Several GIFs illustrate his abilities in the Bucs game vs the Patriots. Used properly, this guy just may be the antidote to our problems outside the hashmarks.

Aaron Rodgers/team doctors optimistic -NFL
Aaron Rodgers wasn't the same after tweaking his hamstring during Sunday night's 44-23 loss to the Saints, but Packers coach Mike McCarthy says the injury won't be an issue going forward.
"So far, so good I would say is how we're looking at it," McCarthy told reporters on Monday, per the Green Bay Press Gazette.
