Time Out

Let me start by saying I've been a Ram's Fan for 41 years. Outside of my Family that is my longest relationship in my life. Growing up in So Cal allowed me to run into players such as Jackie Slater, Jerome Bettis, Kevin Green, Nolan Cromwell, Deacon Jones, Leroy Irvin. I have hanging on my wall a signed Merlin Olsen Jersey, Kurt Warner Ball, Torrey Holt Mini Helmet, Jackie Slater Card, Jerome Bettis Card meaning it's one of my life's most passionate interests or as my Family would say OBSESSIONS!!. And in all that time I've always cheered, bought and worn my gear no matter what their record. I have only been discouraged as a fan twice, when they left California (still not over it) and now. And the reason is because right now it feels a lot like back then. The team is not relevant right now, No respect from fans, from the NFL (refs constantly), and from the current owner. He is as silent as Frontier was before she took the money grab and moved our team with no appreciation for the fans and community that supported them for 44 years. She loved them so much she once said she hoped the Rams and the 49ners would meet in the Super Bowl!! I feel for the fans in St. Louis as they will probably lose their team. Their City acts as though they don't want them, their Governor, the owner act the same way. Who can blame them after a decade of this. After living in California and seeing all of the choices they have for sports and entertainment I'm not convinced they would support them either. I wanted Jeff Fisher as coach back when he first left the Titans. This has turned into another Martz, Linehan, Spagnuola, Worst Case Nightmare! He is a players coach, and I think this is the problem with having the youngest team in the NFL. They need tuff love, the kind an old fashioned father figure would provide. Not a friend. I see no direction with development or identity. I see no passion when players are constantly make bonehead plays or terrible calls by the refs. Yesterday I saw Coach Arians on the sidelines getting fired up on his players on the sidelines "Old School" and they were leading in the game. I for the first time in 41 years am taking a time out from football and my team. Life is short and I read on my team constantly (365 days a year..too much if you ask my wife). I will wear my hat etc like always (Proudly) and check the score after each game. What I won't do is spend another dollar on them (even though I ordered a new hat on Ebay yesterday after that crushing defeat) or watch them on TV until the draft. The Players, Coaches, The FO, The Owner all get paid to perform for us the Fans. And what has been out there the last ten years is unacceptable. This Organization has a rich and proud history and 3 different Championships for 3 different Cities and right now I feel like they should remove their horns and make them earn them.
