What I got for the #2 overall pick in a 32-Man 7rd Mock

On a side forum, I recently participated in a 32-man mock. I was the owner of the Rams so I was allowed to do whatever I wanted. The first thing I did was put the #2 pick on the block. I waited for 3 or 4 days, and no one sent me a private message or contacted me with interest in the pick. I was honestly surprised that no one seemed to want to trade up for Jadeveon Clowney, Teddy Bridgewater, or Johnny Manziel. So you know what I had to do?

I actually had to start contacting teams myself. I contacted the CLE, MIN, and OAK owners. CLE and MIN didn't even want to negotiate. Both owners told me they were fine were they were and felt that they could get the player they wanted. I felt that this was BS and told them that in real life both of those teams would most likely be in a bidding war for this 2nd overall pick. But nonetheless, I left them alone and then went after OAK. At this point I was pretty desperate, because no one had shown interest at all.

So I went straight over to the OAK owner and said this exactly: "Alright, since JAX/MIN/CLE think that they can all get a QB, and don't want to negotiate for this 2nd overall pick, they can suck on a big, fat chode. I will trade the #2 pick to OAK so you can get one of the two franchise QB's or Clowney. All I'm asking for is OAK's 1st and 2nd. You win the trade by 360 points according to the trade value chart. That's essentially a late 2nd rd pick. Take it!"

The OAK manager responded by telling me "no thanks" because he'd be fine with Bortles, or Carr.

At this point, I was pretty pissed. I knew everyone was afraid of trading with STL because they saw what happened with the RG3 trade, and they were afraid of getting trade raped. I suspect it will be similar in real life. All the teams are going to look at that RG3 trade and see how much Washington lost that trade by.

The sad thing about this, is the fact that all I asked for was a 1st and 2nd rd pick for the rights of our 2nd overall pick and I STILL got declined.

Then I contacted TB, a team with an owner that fell in love with Jadeveon Clowney. After about a 45 minute discussion, I had delt the pick. Here was the trade:

STL trades: #2 overall pick

TB trades: #7 overall, #103 overall, 2015 1st, 2015 2nd

I was very happy with this trade. So we traded the #2 pick 5 spots down, picked up a 4th, a future 1st, and a future 2nd.

I realized all it takes is for one team to fall in love with a player. Didn't Snead say that quote? Well if he did, he's 100% right. I hope CLE/MIN/OAK aren't bitches like they were in this mock draft I did. If they are in the bidding for this #2 overall pick, a trade like the one above has a real chance of actually happening.

I think we should be able to trade this pick for 2 1sts and a 2nd in real life.
