Who Were The Most "Valuable" Rams in 2013?

If you've read any of my other FanPosts since the end of the 2013 season, you'll know that I'm obsessed with Approximate Value, a stat provided by Pro Football Reference that attempts (and does a great job, in my opinion) of putting a single number on how well a player played for a whole season and puts that number on a range that can be compared across positions and eras. Here's a link with the methodology for the stat, but bring your abacus.

That being said, I decided to take a look at how much "value" each player brought to the Rams based on their Salary Cap hit and their Approximate Value. The cap information I got from Over The Cap, another highly recommended site for Football Number Junkies. I charted the numbers with cap hit on one axis and AV on the other, so we can see who is the most valuable for the money.

The highlighted quadrant in the top left is the "Overpriced City", as they cost a lot more than the value they brought to the team. Looking at the linear progression I put in the chart, Bradford and Laurinaitis would have to put up about 30 AV to justify their cap hits. An AV over 25 has happened only 3 times, and one of those times was Marshall Faulk in 1999. (And Bradford's cap hit goes UP next year... not getting into that discussion right now, I'm just saying.)

Finnegan was a waste this year, but you knew that already. Chris Long and Scott Wells were also overpriced, but not by as much as the other players.

Jake Long, Cook and Langford were expensive but close enough to their production to avoid the "overpriced" label.

The highlighted lower right quadrant is the "Value Town" for the Rams. The most "value"-able Ram is also the best Ram in 2013, Robert Quinn. Other steals include recent draftees Brockers and Ogletree. This demonstrates another reason the draft is huge for the Rams because look how valuable the recent draftees are, which allows the Rams to gamble on overpriced free agents and pay to keep their own veterans. There are other values in this quadrant but they are so highly packed, it is hard to label them so, please see the chart below.

I'm not sure this chart shows me anything I didn't know from watching the games and looking at the salary numbers, but I thought it summed up the 2013 season well enough, so I wanted to share. If you are a dork like me and want to see the actual numbers for each and every player, I have provided them below, sorted by Cap Hit.
