Time For Some Fun on a Crappy Friday Morning
We all know that some major improvements are needed across the board. Let's use the comments section in this thread as a sort of fun, "what would you do" exercise. Be realistic if you want, be unrealistic if you want. The choice is yours.
The reason I put GM in the title is that in this particular fantasy exercise, Les Snead would have the ability to hire and fire coaches. This means that we can replace coaches with whomever we want, though preferably living! Seriously, be creative and have fun!
My Thoughts on Offense
We include more spread concepts in the offense. I want to see more plays with Jared Cook, Tavon Austin, and Stedman Bailey on the field at the same time, with Bailey in the slot and Cook and Austin out wide. I'd also like to see more plays with Kendricks in the backfield along with a running back. I'd like to see Brian Quick lined up in the slot and used similarly to how the 49ers use Anquan Boldin. Let's hope that Quick can learn to consistently catch the ball like Anquan Boldin. I'd like to see more Zac Stacy with Kendricks blocking for him. Honestly, I'd like to see Zac Stacy do something before this season is over. I'd like to see Darryl Richardson get benched. I'd also like to see our O-line learn how to pass block and run block.
My Hopes and Dreams on Defense
More press coverage. Please continue the increased amount of press coverage that we saw last night. I'd like to see Cortland Finnegan get benched in favor of Trumaine Johnson. When Finnegan comes in for nickel packages, I want him to play press coverage every friggin' time! I'd like to see more blitzes involving Alec Ogletree. I'd like to see Rodney Mcleod stop screwing up and TJ McDonald finish every one of his tackles.
I'd like to see us bring Mike Martz out of retirement. This could end badly but would be amazing if it worked. On defense, I'd love to get Mike Nolan in St. Louis pronto. Hell, maybe call Lovie Smith up. Wouldn't it blow your mind to have our new OC and DC be reunited from our last Super Bowl championship? Hell yes!
All right commenters, now it's your turn to play!
