The one positive that I can take away from the Rams loss to the Cowgirls is that I literally could not stomach any more of the game and decided to go spoil my kid with some video games and we played some Mario game for a couple of hours..except it had Luigi in it.
I actually expected the offense to look like this. I know most people are frustrated by Schotty's offense. I am not saying there aren't better coordinators, there are. But his offense would be good enough if the Rams would just play THE SAME DEFENSIVE SCHEME THEY PLAYED LAST YEAR!
Dude I am so baffled at why the defense is being setup this way? Last year I watched Janoris Jenkins bring down Marshawn Lynch by himself for a 2 yard loss when the Hawks came into the dome last year! It was a regular thing for the Rams CBs to come up in run support. Right now they are so far off the LOS and backing up when the ball is snapped they cant come up and make the tackle. The same thing goes for the safeties. They are so far back, that that one run that Murray broke up the middle for 40 yards or whatever he side stepped McLeod who tried to dive in there and hit him at the hole but it was too late. The Rams defense just looks so out of position.
The question I have is why? The Rams had a very very good defense last year. It was middle of the road statistically in terms of points, but that was because they were on the field for a long time because the offense was so bad. But they generated turnovers, they knocked the shit out of people, the stuffed the run and you could not beat them running to the edge. The secondary played decently. So you would think the Rams would just tweak some things schematically and upgrade roster positions right? The Rams are playing a totally different defense this year. I dont get it.
