31's Picks Week 3

Alright, lets get it. Another week passes and another week passes on the NFL.It was interesting with around 3 game winning drives in there and a lot of excitement. I'm smiling pretty big with my picks, although I haven't checked how I did against the spread yet (I'm supposing not good). Straight up, just rehashing the games this past week was good to me, although I haven't checked that up until now either (I try to keep the excitement for myself). So, lets get to it and see how good exactly I did

So, here's my results from last week and overall for straight up and against the spread:

Week 2 Results Wins Losses
Straight Up 13 3
Spread 10 6
Overall Straight Up 24 8
Overall Spread 16 16

I personally did better than I though I would, again, when it comes to straight up, only losing 3 games with the 3 losers being the Colts, Rams, and Eagles. I guess my upset of the week came from the Cardinals beating the Lions in Arizona. Personally, that pick came from momentum alone, because although the Cards lost against the Rams the week before, I thought the Cards played that game very close and was in the position to win it in the end, although that mostly had to do with the Rams letting them stick around with stupid mistakes. No team in the NFC West will be a walk over that's for damn sure. My spread turned out to be above average as well with me coming out 10 and 6. I'm pretty happy with that and didn't anticipate my coming out on top of 8-8, but I'll take it. I hope that I can keep it above that 8-8 mark for the rest of the year although that might be a bit optimistic because I'm sure I'll probably go up and down as the year goes on. Anyways, here's my picks.

Rams vs Dallas

This is the first time this season, so far, that I've picked against the Rams and I have a few reasons. The first reason is because I think the Rams have to prove that they can win on the road before til I get some more confidence in them. The second reason is because this team is mistake prone and that's been proven the first 2 games. The youth on this team has tended to be a good and evil and I'm just hoping the Rams can overcome it. The 3rd reason is because this secondary is suspect at best. Finnegan is just a headache ready to happy and I get annoyed just thinking about it. Playing even against a top 10 QB in the league, the 10 yard cushion isn't going to work. Now, let me say this, I have went back and forth on this one, and when it comes to games like that, I normally go for the home team which is why I'm picking the Cowboys. I hate the Cowboys with a passions of a million suns so I'm hoping the Rams blast them out of the stadium, but the mistakes and youth have me picking the Cowboys. The Cowboys win this one by 3.

Upset of the Week

I don't think I have an upset to speak of this week in the straight up, but in the spread I have the Cardinals being able to beat their spread. My reasoning for that is the Cards have a good to potentially great defense I believe they can keep it close in New Orleans. At one point in time they might even be able to take the lead, but in the end, I think the Saints can pull it out.

Duh pick of the Week

Seattle Seahwaks vs Jacksonville Jaguars

Do.... do I really need to say anymore?

Most interesting Matchup of the Week

Philadelphia Eagles vs Kansas City Chiefs

Andy Reid returns to Philadelphia for the first time since being let go and it should be a great game. The questions will surround both teams going in:

1. Is Kansas City for real?

2. Has the NFL figured out Chip Kelly already?

3. How will the fan base react the Andy Reid?
