As most of you know, the suspensions of Jo-Lon Dunbar and Isaiah Pead meant that those two players did not count against the 53-man roster prior to the start of the season. Once reinstated, these two positions meant that two other players would be cut, because the Rams kept the full 53 at the outset of the season.
Dunbar was of course released, so no roster moves were necessary on his account.
Yesterday Isaiah Pead's suspension was lifted. This placed the Rams over the 53 man limit. Today they took care of it by releasing Rookie Inside Linebacker Jonathan Stewart from Texas A&M. The Rams roster is now again at 53 active players.
In an additional move, DB Darren Woodard, Rookie from UTEP was also cut from the Practice Squad. These two moves may be related, as the Rams may try to add Stewart to the practice squad once he clears waivers.
First post for me, I knew Pead would be reinstated shortly after Sunday's game and wanted to know who got cut. Finally looked it up myself and thought Id share!
