More cuts to the St. Louis Rams roster were reported early Friday evening.
The latest names to get their walking papers include:

Rams releasing CB Darren Woodard, a rookie free agent from Texas-El Paso.— Jim Thomas (@jthom1) August 30, 2013
Rams releasing FB Eric Stevens, rookie free agent from Cal.— Jim Thomas (@jthom1) August 30, 2013
Hull's been with the Rams since 2010. He was a seventh-round draft pick that year, and carved out a niche as a special teams guy. The Penn State product also filled in for James Laurinaitis on occasion. But the Rams have a bumper crop at linebacker this year, thanks to the addition of undrafted free agent standouts like Ray-Ray Armstrong and Jonathan Stewart.
Davis, a Texas Tech product, would be a nice addition to the practice squad considering the thin depth the Rams have at safety. He had a nice preseason with the Rams, enough to entice another team to give him a chance in all likelihood. However, it raises a larger question about two players still on the roster: Darian Stewart and Matt Giordano. Both are dealing with injuries.
Giordano has barely seen the practice field since camp began. Stewart lost his starting job to Rodney McLeod after a hamstring injury sidelined him in the second preseason game. It's the same injury that kept him out of action last year. It's hard to not wonder if the Rams aren't considering a veteran addition.
Here are the players released so far, or at least that have been reported as released:
- Mason Brodine, DE
- Emory Blake, WR
- Sammy Brown, DE
- Austin Davis, QB
- Davis, S
- Garrett Goebel, DT
- Rashard Hall, S
