A heart breaking observation

So I was looking at a few things over at Pro-Football-Reference.com and noticed something that was startling. The stat I am about to share may bring tears to your eyes...you've been warned!

In the 3 seasons of the GSOT (99-01) the Rams' offense scored 1569 points, averaging 523 points a season, and 32.6 per game. This ranked number 1 in the NFL over that span. The Rams had a record of 37-11 over this period with 3 playoff appearances and 2 Super Bowl appearances and 1 Super Bowl victory.

In the 6 seasons of the WSOT (07-12) since the Rams last had a non-losing record (06 at 8-8) the Rams' offense scored 1451 points, averaging 241.8 per season, and 15.1 per game. This ranked number 32 in the NFL over that span. The Rams had a record of 22-73-1 over this period with zero playoff appearances.

This may have been something you had known, and mostly assumed, but when I actually put the numbers together it blew my mind. St. Louis desperately needs the Rams to play good football and score some points for god sake!

I hope I didn't ruin your day!
