Shout out to Capwiz.1313% for help with an "undoubtably" complex CBA formula!!

After consideration, I thought instead of approaching Capwiz one on one to get an answer I thought maybe many others of you might like to find out as well. In so doing, I decided that this question needed to be directed at none other than our CBA expert Capwiz.1313%(I know many of you out there call him dubs, etc...but come on, is there not a more fitting moniker for this man than Capwiz? NO, and I added the rest for historical reference to his existing moniker and then added decimal and percentages because he's an account for godsakes!). Furthermore since he has admitted that he has read the CBA even while dancing with his wife I ask you is there a more dedicated man to the CBA? The answer again is profoundly NO! Additionally, since my understanding is that this featured sprouted from the pages of the CBA, again it all pointed to one man to be able to navigate the verbiage nomenclature and educate us all. Lastly, the formula like the cap involves money....who do you think I'm going to ask?

Okay, okay, what is the question? It has to do with how the 2014 draft and how the compensatory draft picks are determined. Now that we recently reach our 90 man roster limit, and that while not etched in stone, the free agent part is 99.9% complete. With that being said, than we can begin to figure out what if any compensatory picks we might have in addition to our normal allotted picks for our free agent losses versus additions. This is where the CBA comes in with it's apparent complex calculations; using value, salary and ranking (and maybe some other stuff like pixie dust) of a free agent lost versus the value, salary and ranking of the free agent signed. Then you balance out the loses and gains, and if you lost more than you gained, your team is sprinkled with holy water and granted compensatory picks! Remember last year when the niners ended up with all those extra picks! I would love for the Rams to get a little of that action, and since this was a big year of action with the Rams on the FA front, losing and gaining, I thought this was a great time to lick our mutton ram chops and see what potentially is cookin' on the draft buffet!!

Well again, I have laid out my limited understanding of what things go into the process. I'm wondering if Capwiz.1313% can help us figure out or additional picks if any for 2014? I am hopeful because we lost a lot of key starters SJ, Dahl, Gibson and DA; while I may be missing someone, but at this time can only think of Long and Cook being our new FA signees. I hoping that Long might have dismissed value due to injury per the formula. Any light you can shed on this process would be as always enlightening.......and badly needed in the future before all the draft mock list come out. They should all have at least a clue as to how many picks we might have coming, right?

So Capwiz.....come on down and hopefully share some great news!!!
