There is a flood of optimism about our offense. There is a flood of posts about how great Jared Cook can be, how Zac Stacy and Stedman Bailey could be the steals of the draft, Tavon Austin is unlike any player the Rams have ever had, this could be big rebound years for Pead, Quick, Kendricks, the maturation of Richardson and Givens will continue, the offensive line will be much improved, Bradford will finally be that franchise quarterback because of everything I mentioned. I believe all of these things can happen but my problem is whether or not our Offensive Coordinator Brian Schottenheimer will know what to do with all these weapons.
I liked the hiring last year of Schotty because it looked like this was going to be a team built on defense and the offense was going to be watered down and we would win low scoring games. With his past OC job being a defensive centric Jets team this looked like a good fit. Considering his Dad wasn't cut out of the Air Coryell/Greatest Show On Turf clothe and Schotty the Jr. has ever displayed the ability to call plays for a high octane offense, I hope he doesn't hold us back.
