Around the NFL: Saturday, May 4th

Lots of shuffling going on after the conclusion of the 2013 NFL Draft. Rookies are packing their bags, and heading off to their teams for mini camps, and front offices are trying to sign their newest player...

NFL mini camps can be a lot of things. It's a first opportunity for veterans to meet the rookies, or simple get in some physical training. The 2011 CBA established some pretty strict guideline for what players can and can't do during mini camps too. Here's a little fun fact for you: There's only one NFL team who doesn't have a mandatory mini camp. Check out the list to find the team who believes players shouldn't have to be told there's work to be done. To win the race, you have to show up, right?

A highly touted college quarterback has ego issues? Say it ain't so! Oh Geno! It's time to learn how to keep your head down. You're in the Big Apple now, so the press will be gnawing on everything you do, say, or even think about saying. Just ask Tebow...

Sharrif Floyd's draft day slide had people buzzing. Was it character issues? Is he an Alien? Whatever happened, I think the Minnesota Viking got the steal of the first round. already has a list of coaches who could be in trouble in 2013. Not sure why Miami's Joe Philbin is on the list though...? Some great quotes on the site, like this one by Warren Buffet:

"Chains of habit are too light to be felt until they are too heavy to be broken."

The fact Rex Ryan is on the list doesn't even shock Rex Ryan...'s Bucky Brooks thinks the Tavon Austin pick by the Rams is the "most surprising pick" in the NFC West... News flash there, Bucky: The Rams need play makers for that big kid from Oklahoma. I also think he's rating the 49ers pick of DE Cornellius "Tank" Carradine a tad high...

So Arizona's taking Kevin Minter in the draft was both smart, AND prescient? Daryl Washington's arrest on domestic violence isn't a joke. The woman in question has a broken collar bone, and Daryl has a brand new mug shot to go with serious charges headed his way. Coupled with his recent four game suspension for violating the league's substance abuse program, Washington could be a star falling from the NFL sky...

The Rams had Larry Warford tagged for the first round? ESPN, and Peter King seem to think it's true. They say the two players the Rams wanted when they traded down to #30 were OG, Warford and Georgia OLB, Alec Ogletree. Warford ended up being taken by Detroit in the third round...

Stadium talk is just around the corner Rams fans. You know, I know it, and the people in Miami have already spoken. How this will effect the Rams negotiations with the Edward Jones Dome CVC, is anyone's guess. The Florida state house let a bill to fund improvement to Sun Life stadium lapse, as the legislative session ended with a thud.
