Random Ramsdom 5/20/13

USA TODAY Sports

Emory Blake (16) appears to have been left out of the conversation. Will the talk surrounding him heat up in coming months?

Rookie depth at linebacker - Outside of starters James Laurinaitis, Jo-Lonn Dunbar and the newly drafted Alec Ogletree, the St. Louis Rams are thin the linebacker position. Several undrafted youngsters could fill that void as the season approaches.

Snead alters scouting department - General manager Les Snead has continued to stay busy. In addition to promoting Taylor Morton to director of player personnel, he has added many new faces to the club, including some who may look familiar.

Betting on Bradford - There has been much recent talk around here about the Rams' fourth-year quarterback Sam Bradford. "Make or break" has quickly become a tired cliche in projecting his immediate future. ESPN's Mike Sando is the latest to make his opinion known,

Three more breakout candidates - Just about every player on the Rams' roster has at one point during this offseason been considered a potential breakout performer. These are three who have not garnered the bulk of the conversation, primarily because they exceeded expectations last year.

Blake trying to build own legacy - Wide receiver Emory Blake, son of former NFL quarterback Jeff Blake, is another long-odds undrafted free agent who will be fighting for a roster spot this summer. As the position quickly becomes overcrowded with young talent, does Blake have what it takes to earn the last available spot? Here is more from the Post-Dispatch.

Rock n' the rookies (Video) - Catch up with strength and conditioning coach Rock Gullickson as he and this year's rookie class hit the weight room last weekend. Linebacker Alec Olgetree and offensive lineman Barrett Jones like what they've seen so far.

Rick Venturi really likes the Rams draft class.
