So we all know by now that the Rams signed Ray-Ray Armstrong to the team as an UDFA. Armstrong played safety at Miami from 2009-2011 and was suspended for the 2012 season for booster related trouble. Most of the reaction on TST to this signing has been very positive, myself included.
The safety position on this team is soft and the starting jobs are up for grabs. However; the myth, the man, the legend, Mr. Les Snead, was on 101 this afternoon and the guys on the Fast Lane asked him specifically about Ray-Ray and what he could bring to the team. Les' response surprised me, and may surprise you too.
Ray-Ray is going to project as an OLB for the Rams in mini-camp. Les talked about how he has bulked up to 230+ lbs and ran in the 4.6s. He said he could be a great special teamer and develop.
With this in mind how do you think this affects Armstrong's ability to make the team, and do you think it makes sense to transition him to OLB?
