So there have been some rumors floating out that the Rams would like to move up to snag Tavon Austin. I don't know if I am completely on board with this idea, but it got me thinking about potential trade partners. The other teams that have been said to have interest in Austin are Buffalo, Jets, and Carolina. I feel like the Buffalo interest is a bluff and Carolina is too far down to worry about as they have to many needs to make a move up for a WR. This leaves the Jets as the only real threat ahead of the Rams to select Austin.
The move ahead of the Jets at 9 could be expensive but I thought of a creative way to make it work for the Rams. The Rams make a move with Buffalo that allows them to get the QB they want with out over drafting him at 8.
Here is the Trade:
Rams Sends to Buffalo: 1 (16) 1 (22)
Buffalo Sends to Rams: 1 (8) 2 (41) 1 (2014)
Buffalo uses 16 on a WR or OL and then uses 22 on the QB they want...I've heard both Nassib and Barkley.
The Rams in this scenario end up with: 1 (8) 2 (41) 2 (46) 3 (78) 4 (113) 5 (149) 6 (184) 7 (222)
This gives them the flexibility to fill multiple needs this year and leaves them with 3...yeah 3! First rounders next year where the first round should hold more value.
Keep Calm and Snead On
