2013 NFL Draft: Rams looking to trade 22nd pick?

Jeff Curry-US PRESSWIRE

We know Les Snead isn't afraid to make a move. Will he do it again this year?

Brace yourselves, this is going to be a pretty wild day ... in you haven't already figured that out. Sorting out the rumors in the lead up to the draft takes some patience. Speed reading also helps in the age of Twitter. The St. Louis Rams have officially been Schefter'd this morning, turning up in the rumor mill's grist. And what is the latest rumor?

The bigger news here is that Schefter is mentioning it. The notion of moving out of his pick has been floating around out there for a awhile. It's an iffy year for quarterbacks, and the 22nd spot would be an ideal place for a team to take a chance on a signal caller and still get that fifth year of a bargain priced rookie deal.

Something else worth noting: does dealing out mean moving up or down? Occam's Razor says down, but that could all depend on how Les Snead has his draft board set. For example, if the Rams like Tavon Austin as much as we think they do, they would have to move up in the first round to get him. I still believe this is more about trading down to find a specific player.

Teams broke a record for trades in the first round of last year's draft; the Rams had two of them. This year's opening night could be just as busy with deals.
