Danny Amendola's dad is suing his son's old team, the Dallas Cowboys. Technically, he's suing Cowboys Stadium, aka Jerry World, for an incident that happened in 2011 at the Texas State High School Championship. That incident?
Runaway golf cart.
It's not really funny. They guy could have been hurt pretty seriously. As it stands, Willie Amendola hurt his leg in the incident. Also wounded was his pride. Together, it's worth some $1 million dollars in damages, they hope. Here's a GIF of the incident which traveled far and wide around the internet, more on that in a moment.
Who are we kidding? It's pretty damn funny for a lot of reasons: 1) runaway golf cart, 2) Cowboys stadium, aka Jerry's Palace of Death, 3) the guy that falls into the cart and joyrides for a few yards before deciding to roll out.
Personally, I kind of feel like maybe someone owes him a million bucks just for the sheer entertainment the incident provided.
The elder Amendola is seeking remedy based on: "physical pain, mental anguish, loss of earning capacity, and loss of enjoyment."
That whole "loss of enjoyment" thing, oh, that's because of the personal embarrassment of being an internet sensation.
You'd think with this incident coloring his family history, Danny Amendola might have been more thoughtful about where he spiked the ball last season. Remember that, when he took out a sideline usher?
