I have seen a lot of mocks with the Rams taking a SS early, and drafting a FS later, except for the ones where Vaccaro is picked at 16. Is FS such a need though? We have a bigger need at FS, but the talent for that is mostly in the 2nd or 3rd(except for Vacarro, which none of us really want from what it seems)
Some names that pop up early for us are Cyprien and Elam. Swearinger is considered also but has a late 2nd/early 3rd grade from what i have seen. Cyprien can man both SS and FS, but played most of his collegiate career at SS.
Now why do i question if SS is such a need? Well because we have Darian Stewart, and Fisher has publicly said he thinks he can be the starter and it is basically his job to lose. So why would we draft a SS early when Fisher believes we already have one? Maybe its a smoke screen? Maybe he is being honest.
I think Stewart will be our starting SS next season, and while i wouldnt mind one bit adding another safety later in the draft who could add depth and develop behind him in case he or our new FS falters down the line, i would not want the Rams to take a SS early when they probably wont be starting.
