According to Howard Balzer, Steven Jackson has officially voided his contract.

This means that Steven Jackson will officially become a free agent on March 12.

I liked the idea of getting a scoop for a change (and posting it) before the front page writer's could get it posted!! (I succeeded!!).

Teams do have a three day window before free agency starts on March 12 to negotiate exclusively with their eligible free agents (please click on link).

This voiding of the contract means the Rams now officially gain 7 million in cap space. Hopefully, the Rams will continue negotiations with Jackson and retain him!!

According to the report of Jackson's comments, it wasn't about the money.......it was about what his reduced role would be in 2013.
