New Rams Mock Draft: W/ Explanations

Got some free time on my hands to spare so here goes !

A-16: WVU WR: Tavon Austin, put him in the receiver corps with Chris Givens, and you have yourself two solid starting receivers.

B-22: Cal WR: Keenan Allen, The Rams could go Matt Elam right here, Jonathon Cooper or Alec Ogletree but assuming that Fisher wants to see a drastic improvement in the Rams offense by having a big red zone target, Allen would be the way to go. Here you have yourself a receiving core of 1: Tavon Austin 1A: Keenan Allen 2: Chris Givens 3: Brian Quick 5: Austin Pettis assuming we don't add a 6th receiver to the roster.

-46: Kyle Long OG/OT Oregon: Not only does Long's bloodlines gets him selected early in the second but his athleticism and versatility make this pick a great bargain, Long would immediately start at LG from day one and since he has played time at left tackle in the pac 12, if one of our injury prone starters at tackle were to go down, Long could step in at either left or right tackle, this pick comes assuming the Rams see Watkins as depth, and if a injury were to happen to one of our tackles maybe Saffold ? The lineup would look like this LT: Long LG: Watkins C: Wells RG: Dahl RT: Long.

- Georgia FS: Baccari Rambo: Not only is Rambo under the radar still, but he is probably the biggest play making FS in the draft something a 2nd round FS such as Eric Reid has lacked, Rambo could add to the turnover machine that is Janoris Jenkins, the Rams have lacked a good FS since Otogwe was here, and Rambo would bring that back.

- Duke Williams SS Nevada- Duke Williams will be the new Rams SS and replacement for Mikell, he could very well be a bigger hitter than Mikell was in the nfl he's a in the box safety who is stout against the run just what the rams need .

Florida RB: Mike Gillisee- Mike put the team on his back in 2012 as he was Florida's only reliable option on offense. He's the type of late round steal who could emerge as a franchise back in the nfl, he doesn't have alot of durability on him considering that last season was his first as a starter in 2012, Joseph Randle and Christine Michael's are other options in this draft.

-Mario Benavides C Louisville: Mario was a huge attribute to Louisville's successful season in 2012. Watching him myself at the Sugar bowl i saw solid pass protection against Florida's all world defensive line. He would usually be higher up the board than here, but he didn't work out at the combine and other minor offseason issues which could lead to a drop in his stock. When Well's eventually goes down sometime in the 2013 season, Mario will provide solid depth and possibly be able to overtake Well's so the Rams can cut him and save cap space.

Michael Williams TE Alabama: Assuming Michael Williams is still available at this pick which is very possible, the Rams would have a solid third TE behind Kendricks and would replace the released Matt Mulligan as the Rams primary run blocking TE to add to the Rams run game, which they'll desperately need in 2013 to make a playoff run, he is also a decent receiver. Being forced to run block in Alabama overshadowed Williams receiving ability. Welp Thats is so what do you guys think ?
