One thing that is a misconception is this: Coming into the NFL as a rookie and becoming a difference maker is hard. If you look at a draft, you look for a few things. You look for needs, wants, and depth. But, the difference comes when that actual player comes in, starts, and makes a difference. In a regular draft of seven rounds with seven picks, you strive for, at minimum, two impact players who can come in and make a difference. A draft is a draft because you don't know what you're gonna get. It's like going into a log-term relationship with a broad you met a few times before.
What we had last year was exceptional. We had six, count it, SIX ... S - I - X players come in and make a difference from the very beginning.
DT Michael Brockers, CB Janoris Jenkins, CB Trumaine Johnson, WR Chris Givens, K Greg Zuerlein, and RB Daryl Richardson.
Those are 6 players that will be a part of the Rams' future for years to come, hopefully. That's a great set of young players to work with. This is how you start a franchise and keep it running. In this upcoming draft, we have eight picks including an extra first round pick. With the picks this year, we have a chance to get three or four more impacting players. Hope for the best, GO RAMS!
