Danny Amendola has signed with the New England Patriots over a 5 year deal. He was many Rams' fans favorite player. I will miss the hell out of him.
He was signed form the Eagles practice squad in 2009. He caught on in the offense in a big way in 2010, where he caught 83 passes en route to helping Sam B. earn his rookie of the year honors. Back in 2009, no one wanted Danny Amendola. He had to fight from the bottom to get a shot, resulting in scrappy and incredibly tough play.
After a brutal arm injury in his first game in 2011, the Rams offense never looked the same in 11. Rumors swirled that season he was pushing hard to come back by the middle of the season. Most players wouldn't dream of such a recovery. Although it didn't happen, that attitude showed his devotion to the game.
You all know his doings in 2012, as he was a key cog to our offense in the first half of the season before dealing with a surprisingly life threatening injury, injured on a diving play(what else?). Still he fought back again in only 3 weeks. He made a diving catch in his first game back while limping on and off the field due to an ankle injury.
Danny was my favorite. It kills me knowing he is going to the Pats now. He was the embodyment of scrap and a never-say-die attitude on a team that did way too much dying. Best of luck to you, Danny.
