We are reviewing the fantasy relevance of all major offensive players who changed teams at the start of free agency.
Welcome to another update from a fantasy football perspective on offensive players changing teams in free agency;
Jared Cook - I watch the video of his 2012 season and much of his talent was wasted by either dump offs, very inaccurate throws, as well as not utilizing his sped and size down the field. He was 5-5 on throws over 20 yards and I would expect the Rams - especially after what they paid - to take more advantage of his skill set. He is a WR who is listed as a TE with less than 50 snaps with his hand in the ground, so I expect him to be a draft day bargain and he should grade out as a mid TE1, with somewhere around 60 catches 800 yards and 7 TD's. At 25, the arrow is pointing up.
Reggie Bush - He has signed with the Lions who I expect to use him more like he was with the Saints than the Dolphins; especially with a bruising goal line back already in place in Leshoure. I think he will grade out as a RB3 in standard leagues but close to a RB1 in PPR, with around 700 yards rushing, 70 catches and 500 yards receiving with around 4-5 TD's.
Rashard Mendenhall - he signed a 1 year "make good" deal with the Cardinals and looks to be a win/win for both side. He needs to prove he's healthy and the team has a talented job share with him and Ryan Williams. I can see Mendenhall as a RB3 and mid round pick. My projection is around 900 yards and 8 TD's.
Shonn Greene - He looks to be a Titan, which makes him only a handcuff and possible goal line vulture to Chris Johnson. Tough to predict, but he is end of draft pick with around 400 yards and 6 TD's.
Donnie Avery - He looks to be the slot WR for the Chiefs, but this spot was rarely used with the Eagles for Andy Reid. Also, Avery had one of the worst receptions to target rates in the NFL for anyone with over 50 catches. He is at best a very late round flyer and bi-week fill in. Projection would be about 40 catches for 450 yards and 3 TD's.
Laurent Robinson- He was released, and after his 4 concussion, looks to end his career - nothing to see here.
