The key to us making a playoff run is simple; solidify the offensive line. If we can solidify the offensive line in this draft for the next ten years, we will be contenders for those years. It all starts in the middle. I'm thinking it will take 3 picks this year on offensive linemen to solidify our trenches. Those picks come in the first and fifth round. A guard, a right tackle, and a center.
1.16 - either Chance Warmack or Jonathan Cooper LG
1.22 - DJ Fluker RT
5.16 - Khaled Holmes C
These picks aren't pretty. Hell, they're ugly. But, if we have a good line, we can win championships.
We have wide receivers now, so we don't need one this draft. One thing that can help Fluker on the right side in pass protection is the availability of a tight end or the back out of the backfield. So, adding help at tight end, a blocking tight end, will take ease off of him and the pass rush.
6.16 - Michael Williams TE
Now, by using these picks to solidify the offensive like and blocking scheme, we can now use 4 pick for the defensive side of the ball, where Fisher takes his pride. The middle of the field is where we need the most help. So, Snead and Co. will address this with the other picks, while still getting quality starters and rotational players.
2.16 - Jonathan Cyprien SS
3.16 - Jamie Collins OLB
4.16 - TJ McDonald FS
7.16 - Montori Hughes DT
