Let's talk pass blocking first. Warmack is an excellent pass blocker. OK Glissadevil, "Tell us something we don't know?" Alright I will.
Warmack will greatly improve the play of Left OT and the Center. How? Please go watch film of Warmack. His head is on a swivel, constantly looking for the biggest threat to QB and the pocket, thus canceling out a multitude of LOT and Center missed blocks. Of course this in turn frees the center up to help the RG passblock. It's a ripple effect accross the entire offensive line.
This in turn allows the Rams OL to stave off the DL and blitzing LB's with 5 blockers instead of of 6 or 7. Rams get 4 or 5 recievers into pass routes. Instead of just 3. That is exactly what the elite teams with elite QB's do. And that's why some elite teams with great Offensive lines allow more sacks than the Rams.
The Warmack Effect is like an earthquake. The Offensive Right Tackle is far removed from ground zero. So the Rams need to address ROT in the upcoming draft. Let's move on to the ground game.
When he's run blocking Warmack often pancakes his man, then Warmack moves on to the next tier of defenders and twarts a second defensive player up field. Two defenders for the price of one!
Eric Dickerson later regretted leaving the Rams, because the Rams had an awesome offensive line, and Indy did not. Did you know Chance Warmack missed 4 blocks last year. ( that's roughly 1 every 200 snaps against premium SEC defensive lines). Mark my words. Warmack, if healthy will make the Hall of Fame.
