The Rams have already announced the second pick is for sale. With the Jaguars and Browns picking after us, the second overall pick should be easily traded. In this draft I assume we release Dahl, Wells, and Finnegan. We do not resign Saffold.
1.2 TRADE we trade 1.2 to Oakland for 1.5, 2.5 and a future first round pick so Oakland can jump in front of the Jaguars and Browns and select a QB.
1.5 TRADE we trade 1.5 to Green Bay for 1.21 (I think they will lose in the first round of the playoffs) 2.21 4.21 and a future second round pick. The Packers trade up to select Jake Matthews who falls as a run of QBs are selected.
1.13 HaHa Clinton Dix (S) Alabama- Start him next to McDonald and suddenly Safety is a strength instead of a weakness.
1.21 David Yankey (OG/OT) Stanford- He reminds me a lot of Saffold as I think he can be a good tackle but an even better guard. Start him at RG next to Barksdale.
2.5 Cyril Richardson (OG/OT) Baylor- Another player who I think would make a good tackle but an even better guard. Picking Richardson here allows us to start him at LG and have two guards capable of playing outside in case of injury to Long or Barksdale.
2.13 Tajh Boyd (QB) Clemson- I know what you are thinking, this is way to early to draft a QB. But Boyd is not going to be the starter. I firmly believe that we are 2 guards and another good safety from getting into the playoffs. Well I drafted the saftey and two guards. We are a team who can play with anyone and if Bradford goes down again, it would rather have a backup QB who can get us wins instead of a QB who manages a game to not lose. Boyd I believe can lead us to some wins and if Bradford turns out to not be the QB we hope he can be, Boyd will give us another option.
2.21 Bradley Roby (CB) Ohio State- A cornerback very similar to Janoris Jenkins. He is quick, takes risks, and is good in man coverage. He can play nickle with Janoris and Trumaine on the outside.
3.13 EJ Gaines (CB) Missouri- Very good corner who held Mike Evans to 4 catches and 8 yards. He can play man or zone very well and is a smart player. He is limited to only playing outside though as I do not think he has the quickness or speed to play nickle. He would provide us with quality depth.
4.13 Seantrel Henderson (OT) Miami- Massive player with huge upside but off the field issues. He falls here as he has not played near his potential and he may be limited to RT as his feet seem a little slow.
4.21 Taylor Hart (DT) Oregon- Plays DE for the ducks but I think he can play DT for us. He is quick getting penetration and a year rotation behind Brockers and Langford will help him learn the game better and be a possible replacement for Langford later.
5.13 Weston Richburg (C) Colorado State- Good center who falls due to the competition he played. He can sit for a year and compete for a starting position next year.
6.13 Matt Miller (WR) Boise State- Big WR who has good hands but does not run the best routes. He can be a redzone threat his rookie year.
7.13 Chris Borland (MLB) Wisconsin- Smart player who is limited athletically. He can backup Laurinaitis.
7.?(Josh Gordy trade) Henry Josey (RB) Missouri- Blazing speed, great vision, productive in the SEC. All qualities that would make you think he should be drafted on the first 2 rounds. Unfortunately he has an injury history. In 2011 Henry Josey tore his ACL, MCL, patellar tendon, the meniscus, and the cartilege in his knee. He was told he would never play football again. Instead he came back in 2013 to run for over 1000 yards, rush for more than 6 yards a carry, and 13 TDs. He is a good football player who can spell Stacy or come in when we need some speed.
So what do you guys think?
