Hello everybody! As you can probably tell, this is my first fan post here on Turf Show Times, as I am a new member to this site, but I've lurked around enough on here to be able to tell you that I have grown to appreciate this site, and thought I would try my hand at posting. If there is anything you think I can do to improve my writing skills, please do not hesitate to leave me suggestions. With that being said, lets get started.
As we all know, the Rams just suffered ourtheir third consecutive loss this past Sunday, leaving many to wonder where we may go from here. With playoff hopes dwindling away (even though I haven't totally given up hope), the typical thing to do would be to look forward to the draft. Granted there is nothing wrong with that, but this season is not just a lost cause. Players are going to be playing for their jobs, competing for starting positions, and trying to make names for themselves while they have the opportunity to do so. Now on that note, lets discuss some players who may see more playing time as the season progresses.
Stedman Bailey- This is one of the guys I'm most excited to get to see play. I can honestly say that I didn't know a whole lot about him coming out of West Virginia, as I don't follow college football closely. What I can say is that while I was watching some of his highlights, I noticed he has pretty reliable hands, which we could use right about now. He also was part of the reason for Tavon's success in college, as he helped open up the game for him. I have been wondering why we haven't seen Stedman on the field other than special teams, where I believe he has tried to prove his case, as he has been a reliable tackler for us in that area. Also, where the heck did he go after making that catch in yesterday's game? He made a play for us in helping to pick up a first down, only to not be thrown to for the rest of the game? This is a mystery to me.
Isaiah Pead- Okay, something has to be going on behind the scenes with this guy. Either he is in Fisher's dog house, or he is just having trouble learning the playbook. Whatever it is, I believe Pead has talent, but just hasn't been given enough opportunities in my opinion to be judged whether he is a "bust" or not. I mean, if there was a time for him to get some reps, it would've been yesterday, right?
Barrett Jones- Now I'm not sure if we are going to get to see him play this season or not, as I believe we may be grooming him behind Scott Wells to be our future center. He has also dealt with an injury coming out of college, and we may just be letting him rest up for next season. Whether or not he plays this year, I believe he was a steal in the fourth round of the draft.
Now i don't know about you, but I for one am still looking forward to Rams football on Sundays. Even though Sammy B. is out for the season, we aren't going to just roll over and die. That's not our mentality, its not who we are.
