I saw a mock draft by Shutdown Corner. They have the Rams picking 6th and 10th. The 6th pick would be the one from the Redskins and that is right about where that pick sits right now. The 10th pick, the one belonging to the Rams, is a little arbitrary as 9 teams have 4 wins. At any rate, they have the Rams choosing UCLA LB Anthony Barr with the 6th pick. They have the Rams taking Michigan OT Taylor Lewan with their 10th pick.
Shutdown Corner seems to suggest that Anthony Barr is a pass rush specialist at the linebacker position. They proclaim this "Can you imagine Barr and Robert Quinn screaming off the edge on quarterbacks’ blind sides? Mercy." Saying, also, that this would be a luxury pick for the Rams.
Taylor Lewan they say would suffice as a RT and then move to LT once Long leaves. They go on to say that he has a "nasty streak fits the Jeff Fisher mold." This would seem to be a draft for need pick.
I, myself, noted that Marqise Lee wasn't picked until 14th in their draft. I know the Rams have a lot of receivers but Lee just looks special. Very elusive and makes acrobatic catches. Plus, as far as LB is concerned, I'd like to see the Rams find a younger, more athletic, Jo Lonn type.
I'm curious. What do you more college scout types have to say about this?
