St. Louis Rams: What I'll Be Looking For Today...

Jeff Curry-USA TODAY Sports

After looking at the Rams' injury list for this week, I'm surprised no coaches names were mentioned? They have to be a bit mentally battered; their "brain-CLs" strained and sprained? I"ll be watching how Jeff Fisher's coaching staff deals with adjusting this young team as they try to fix problems across the board.

The running back situation will be high on Fisher's list. Daryl Richardson won't be starting today, so who's going to step into the void? Will it be Zac Stacy, who only a year ago led the SEC in rushing? Maybe it will be Isaiah Pead, the much maligned second year back out of Cincinnati, who just can't seem to get on track? Benny Cunningham - an undrafted free agent - has the size and speed to pound the ball, but will Fisher give him the carries he'll need to prove himself?

The offensive line for the Rams should be one of this team's greatest strengths. It houses the most NFL experience of any unit on the team's depth chart, but has struggled the last three weeks. If running the ball is in fact a major "to-do" for Fisher, Paul Boudreau's guys need to find ways to open holes along the Jaguars' defensive line. Jacksonville is ranked dead last in the NFL against the run, giving up an average of 165 yards per game on the ground.

On defense, the Rams have to show me they can stop the run at the second level, and take some pressure off of rookie outside linebacker Alec Ogletree - who opposing teams appear to be picking on. Chris Long is a shadow of what he was in 2012. I've seen him standing up at the line of scrimmage more often this season, instead of in his "rolling-ball- of butcher- knives" four point stance. If he's dealing with a sore hip, it's likely the source of his slowed pass rush.

Rams wide receivers need to get past their growing pains. This is just my opinion, but the Rams currently only have ONE wide receiver with marked, proven talent - Chris Givens. Jared Cook is still a tight end to me, no matter where he's set. Tavon Austin is an unproven rookie, and Brian Quick's promise is still just that: Promise.

So what will you be looking for today?
