St. Louis Rams at Houston Texans: Players To Watch

Scott Kane-USA TODAY Sports

These key players need to have a great game for the Rams to win.

The St. Louis Rams are heading to Houston to play the Texans. This is a game wher the Rams could pull out a victory; however, it will take all 53 players playing some good football.

Which players need to play well? Damn near the whole team, but these key players should be the ones to watch when the Rams play the Texans.

Rams

Sam Bradford

If the Rams hope to beat the Texans, Bradford has to have a solid game against the number one pass defense in the league. It will be a tough game and Bradford won't have to play perfect, but he will have to play well enough to win. Maybe on the way he can find Chris Givens and Jared Cook. Bradford needs to find them soon, let's hope that soon is in Texas on Sunday.

Tavon Austin

Austin hasn't been as productive in the passing game as anyone expected so far. However, the Rams need someone to make big plays for them and this could be Austin's coming out party. Will this finally be the week that Austin returns a punt return for a touchdown? We just have to hope.

Zac Stacy

Stacy was productive in his first game as a starter, so productive that he's been named the starter this week. There's no reason to assume that he will lose his starting role. Stacy was patient hitting the hole and getting the yards that were there. He might not be a game changer, but the Rams should have a back that can finally give the team a viable runner; this will be a good test to see how Stacy plays against a good defense.

Jo-Lonn Dunbar

The heart and soul of the Rams defense is back. He only had one tackle against the Jacksonville Jaguars in his first game back, but against a team that figures to rely on the running game this week, he should have a bigger role.

Janoris Jenkins

Jenkins has been solid this season. This week should be a big test for him, Andre Johnson and DeAndre Hopkins. However he has a real chance of looking good this week, because if anyone is capable of giving Matt Schaub his fifth straight game with an interception for a touchdown, it's Jenkins.

Texans

Arian Foster

Foster is an animal at running back. The Rams have struggled with the run so far this season, and it appears that Foster has hit his stride. Slowing Foster down will give the Rams a big chance to win this week. That's easier said than done.

J.J. Watt

Watt is one of the best defensive players in the league. He is one of the best players at swatting the ball and the Rams have a quarterback who is leading the league in batted balls. Obviously something will have to give, it wouldn't be a surprise to see Watt wreaking havoc on the Rams line.

Matt Schaub

The NFL's most criticized quarterback now that Tony Romo isn't horrible and Mark Sanchez is on the sideline cheering Geno Smith. We all know about Schaub's struggles; however, can he lead the Texans' offense to  productivity against the Rams? A betting man would say yes, but who knows one more pick-6 could not only seal the game but Schaub's career in Houston.
