2013 Mock Draft Picked By Any & All TST Fans - pick #20

With the nineteenth pick in the 2013 NFL Draft the New York Giants select Ezekiel Ansah, DE, BYU.

Next we address the #20 pick in the draft - The Chicago Bears are on the clock.

#20 Chicago Bears. Needs - OL, MLB, TE. For the Bears it was a tale of two seasons last year. They started 2012 at 7-1 and looked to be a lock for a playoff berth, but then collapsed in the second half, going 3-5 and stumbling to a 10-6 finish that left them out of the playoffs and ultimately cost HC Lovie Smith his job.

The Bears were stellar on defense yet again in 2012. They were #1 in the NFL at forcing turnovers, collecting 44 on the year. The Bears D returned 8 of those takeaways for TDs, which also led the League. Chicago ranked 3rd in points allowed, giving up a meager 17.3 points per game. The Bears finished 8th vs. the run and 8th vs. the pass, and 5th in the League in overall defense. Numbers that most fans around the NFL would be overjoyed to have their team post.

The offense was a different story. While the Bears finished a respectable 10th in rushing yards and 16th in scoring by averaging just over 23 points a game, the passing game left something to be desired. The offensive line was terrible in pass protection yet again, giving up 44 sacks on the year. The play of the O-line played no small part in the Bears finishing the season a disappointing 29th in passing offense.

The Bears need help all along their O-line, Brian Urlacher's time in Chicago looks to be over, Julius Peppers and Lance Briggs are getting up there in age, and they could use another target for Jay Cutler. Do the Bears take an O-lineman here? Maybe a LB to add youth to the aging LB corps? Or do they grab one of the TEs available? You decide.
